The Nintendo rule 34 game is Higher or Lower for the characters Nintendo would rather you didn't search for. Two of them appear, one rule34.xxx post count is revealed, and you call whether the other is higher or lower. The pool holds 27 characters from 9 series — Super Mario, The Legend of Zelda, Metroid, Animal Crossing, Splatoon, Fire Emblem, Xenoblade, Star Fox and Kid Icarus — with Pokémon kept on its own page. It plays right here, free, official art only.
Princesses on Top, Mario in the Middle
Princess Peach, Princess Zelda, Samus Aran and Link lead the Nintendo pool with 50,419, 39,419, 37,109, 33,108 posts respectively. Two of the top four are princesses, one is a bounty hunter who spent her first game in a suit of armour, and Link is the only man among them. Princess Peach (50,419 posts) beats Princess Zelda (39,419), and Samus Aran (37,109 posts) edges out Link (33,108) — the hero of Hyrule finishes behind the hero of Zebes.
Mario himself sits at #12 of 27 with 11,042 posts. Bowser (21,308 posts) beats Mario (11,042), Princess Daisy (20,706 posts) beats Mario (11,042), and Isabelle (20,796 posts) beats Mario (11,042) — the most famous character in video games loses to his own villain, to the princess from the spin-offs, and to a dog who works at a town hall. Luigi, at #21, trails his brother the way he trails him in everything.
Animal Crossing and the Villager Effect
Animal Crossing has no combat, no romance and no plot, and still puts two villagers in the top ten. Isabelle is #6 with 20,796 posts; Ankha (17,700 posts) beats Midna (15,033), so a cat villager who went viral on TikTok in 2021 beats the Twilight Princess herself. Fan content follows personality and memes, not screen time.
The same series also shows how steep the drop can be inside one game: Rosie closes the whole table with 645 posts, 32× below Isabelle. Two villagers from the same island, one at the top of the category and one at the bottom.
The oddest top-ten entry is Krystal from Star Fox: a character from a 2002 GameCube game at #8 with 19,373 posts, ahead of Mario, Luigi and every Fire Emblem lord. Furry fandoms keep their favourites for decades, and the numbers show it.
Series Within the Series
Inside The Legend of Zelda the order runs Princess Zelda, Link, Midna, Urbosa and Mipha — the princess first, then the hero, then the companions. Midna (15,033 posts) crushes Urbosa (3,874), which is roughly the gap between a fan favourite and a well-liked side character.
Splatoon is a three-way race between its idols: Marina (10,260 posts) beats Marie (7,901) and Marie (7,901 posts) beats Callie (6,845). Off the Hook beats the Squid Sisters, but the sisters are close enough to each other to be a Hard Mode round.
Fire Emblem's cast is spread thin across dozens of games, so even its most-drawn lords sit mid-table: Lucina, Camilla and Tharja in that order. Pyra (13,481 posts) beats Mythra (9,546) settles the Xenoblade question the same way the fandom usually does.
Bowsette deserves a footnote. She is not a Nintendo character at all — a fan design from a 2018 comic — yet she sits at #15 with 8,963 posts, and Bowsette (8,963 posts) beats Luigi (6,156). A meme that lasted one autumn out-posts a character who has been in games since 1983.
Winning a Nintendo Round
Three rules cover most rounds. Princesses and Samus beat everyone: any of the top four against anyone outside it is a Higher call. The bottom five — Urbosa, Rosalina, Mipha, Pauline and Rosie — are free points against the rest of the table. The danger zone is the middle of the table, where neighbours sit a few hundred posts apart and the order changes between refreshes.
The closest pair in the category right now is Camilla and Marie, 7,926 to 7,901 — less than 1% apart. If that round comes up, nothing but luck separates a correct call from a wrong one.
Forget sales figures and forget who is on the box. Rosie and Pauline were both in major recent releases and both sit at the bottom; Krystal has not had a new game in years and sits in the top ten. The fandom draws who it likes, and it has liked the same characters for twenty years.

Nintendo FAQ
Is there a Nintendo rule 34 game?
Yes — this page hosts it. The Higher or Lower game above draws only from the 27-character Nintendo pool: Super Mario, The Legend of Zelda, Metroid, Animal Crossing, Splatoon, Fire Emblem, Xenoblade, Star Fox and Kid Icarus. Guess which character has more rule34 posts, build a streak, and check the ranking below. Free, no account, official art only.
Which Nintendo character has the most rule34 posts?
As of the latest data refresh, Princess Peach leads the Nintendo pool with 50,419 posts, ahead of Princess Zelda and Samus Aran.
Is Pokémon part of the Nintendo rule 34 game?
No. Pokémon has by far the largest roster on the site, so it gets its own page and its own pool; mixing it in here would turn every Nintendo round into a Pokémon round. The two categories share the same rules and the same data.
Does Mario beat Bowser on rule34?
No. Bowser (21,308 posts) beats Mario (11,042). Mario currently ranks #12 of 27 in his own company's pool.
Is this game safe for work?
Yes. Only official character artwork is shown — the same renders publishers release themselves. The post counts come from rule34.xxx's public tag statistics, but no image from that site ever appears here.
More Character Categories
Same rules, different roster. Every category page runs its own Endless game and lists each character's current post count.

- Genshin Impact Characters Genshin's cast is enormous and its fandom is prolific, which makes the Genshin Impact rule 34 game brutally competitive.
- Honkai: Star Rail Characters HoYoverse's space fantasy RPG brings a whole new cast to the Honkai Star Rail rule 34 game.
- Anime Characters The big-three era meets modern hits in the anime rule 34 game: Naruto, One Piece, and Dragon Ball icons face off against My Hero Academia, Chainsaw Man, and Spy x Family.
- League of Legends Champions With 160+ champions and two hit animated series, League's fandom output is staggering — but wildly uneven, which makes the League of Legends rule 34 game genuinely hard.
- Overwatch Heroes Overwatch's cast practically defined a genre of fan content, and the hierarchy among its heroes is legendary.
- Indie Game Characters Small budgets, colossal fandoms.
- Marvel & DC Heroes DC against Marvel is the oldest argument in comics, and the superhero rule 34 game settles it with numbers instead of box office.
- My Little Pony Characters Friendship Is Magic built one of the largest fandoms on the internet, and the brony era left a permanent mark on rule34.
Nintendo's biggest series is missing from this roster on purpose — it has its own Pokemon rule 34 game, with 90+ Pokémon and trainers and the widest spread of post counts on the site.
